The third letter in my series is "S." One of the most widely used letters in the alphabet. It is a letter that's popular on Wheel of Fortune. It's significant to the English language. We can use the letter 'S' to change one thing into multiple by adding the letter 'S' to the end of words. For example, a cat becomes multiple cats with the 's' at the end. The 's' can transform a word into a different meaning. Being "patient"(to tolerate)becomes multiple people when adding the 's' to the word(patients: people going to see the doctor).Ok, enough about English grammar and spelling!
During my metamorphosis, I discovered a powerful STATEMENT(a definite or clear expression of something in speech or writing). It read: "It took me a long time to find my voice, and now that I have it, I will never be SILENT"!(not making any sound) In my book, 'Define the Truth and Overcome IT Anyway,' I discuss SEVEN obstacles we face every day on the road to our SUCCESS( the accomplishment of an aim or purpose). The obstacles constantly deter us from reaching our fullest potential and obtaining prosperity. Fear is the first chapter of the book. It is the one we STRUGGLE(strive to achieve or attain something in the face of difficulty or resistance) with most. When I decided to write the book, I felt I wasn't alone in my thinking. People find it challenging to go after their aspirations. For many, we STRIVE(make great efforts to achieve or obtain something)to discover our purpose in life. We want to have the life that God said is available to us. Jesus said: "I came to give you life, and life more abundantly"! Yet, fear of this better life keeps us SILENT and immovable. We STRUGGLE to believe we can have the desires of our hearts. We face a constant tug-of-war between remaining as we are or looking to find out what's on the other SIDE( a position to the left or right of an object, place, or central point)of fear.
You have a choice in life. We have the liberty to decide which life we want to live. Forrest Gump said: "Momma said life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get!" That STATEMENT might be accurate, but we can control how some things turn out. We allow the everyday STRESS(a state of worry or mental tension caused by difficult situations) of our daily lives to dictate how our day will go. But, if we put forth a conscious effort and SEEK(attempt to find something) to plan our day and get SUPPORT(give assistance to; enable to function or act) from the right community of people, we can change our fortunes and build lasting legacies for ourselves and our families.
God molded our lives for us, Him the potter and we the clay. He knew when and where he precisely wanted you to be. He did this to use the gift He placed inside you to fulfill His purpose for your life. I don't know if you have ever given thought to the idea that God wanted you here on this earth for just a time like this! The Bible says that a man's gift maketh room for him and bringeth him before great men. He could have put you in the 1700s or 1900s. Just like the parable in the Bible about man and talents, Jesus SPOKE(a more intimate conversation between two or more people)with His disciples about how a man gave specific amounts of money to three men. He should have informed them what to do with the money. He didn't. He gave them money according to their ability to handle his finances. He left them and returned a few weeks later. The story in Matthew 25 is a story to teach us how to manage the responsibility that we get every day. How do you work on the tasks when there are no instructions? What methods do you employ to help you make SOUND(showing or based on good judgment)decisions to accomplish a goal? Who can you talk to if things go wrong? Or even if they are going right, how do you know?
The results of the three men varied. Each one did according to their ability. The word "ability" jumps out because we control the gifts that we have. There is an abundance of information that lends itself to us. We can go to the library, read books, go on the internet or social media, or attend seminars. People share their expertise with you constantly. We are more aware of the plight of this world, and we genuinely want more people to SUCCEED(achieve the desired aim or result)in becoming more independently SELF-SUFFICIENT(needing no outside help in satisfying one's basic needs). We need to help ourselves and others to SURVIVE(continue to live or exist, especially despite danger or hardship)in this world. A scripture says, "My people perish for lack of knowledge(Hosea 4:6, KJV), and we need to grasp the concept of this warning fully.
There is an acronym for "kiss": K-Keep I-It, S-SIMPLE(easily understood or done), and S-STUPID(having or showing a significant lack of intelligence or common sense)that people use. Sometimes we try to make life more complicated than it is. One of my favorite sayings is: "Every decision you make will dictate the life you lead." To SUSTAIN(strengthen or support physically or mentally) a level of normalcy and structure in your life, think about the choices you're about to make. There is a higher power that will help you in times of deciding between what you should or shouldn't do. Go to HIM! Then, be willing to listen for the answer. He will only direct you into something that aligns with His purpose. We need to think more. Be ready to look for counsel from others or advice in making your decisions. I decided to be a life coach because I wanted to see people achieve their dreams and encourage them to believe that, as Les Brown says: "IT'S POSSIBLE!
I hope you are enjoying this series and staying with it. The following letter is "D." Please read, like, and subscribe to my website and share this powerful message with others!
